Summary of responses to the draft proposal consultation

Of the 20 consultation responses 12 strongly support the change with three tending to support the proposed parish name change. Three strongly oppose the proposed change with one tending to oppose it.

Recommendation

To rename the parish Botley and North Hinksey parish.

Justification for the final recommendation

The inclusion of Botley in the parish name will better reflect the geography and community it covers. Road signs in the area read “North Hinksey (Botley)”, there is a Botley & North Hinksey Community website, Botley is reflected in postal addresses and both Botley and North Hinksey are referred to individually or together by community groups and facilities within the parish.
